Turtle Brownies Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Brownies:
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
For the Topping:
1/2 cup (120ml) caramel sauce
1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips, melted
1/2 cup (60g) pecans, chopped
Instructions:
Prepare the Brownies:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
Bake the Brownies:
Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not overcook; the brownies should be soft in the center.
Add the Turtle Topping:
Once the brownies are baked, remove from the oven and immediately drizzle caramel sauce over them.
Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the caramel.
Drizzle melted chocolate over the top of the pecans and caramel.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares. This will help the caramel and chocolate set and make the brownies easier to cut.
Tips:
For the caramel sauce, you can use store-bought or make your own by simmering a mixture of heavy cream, butter, and brown sugar.
To enhance the flavor, lightly toast the pecans in a dry skillet before chopping them.
Serve the brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special dessert.
These Turtle Brownies offer a wonderful mix of textures and flavors, making them a perfect treat for any occasion. Enjoy!
