Classic Glazed Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Meatloaf:

2 pounds ground beef (preferably a mix of ground chuck and lean beef)

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/3 cup milk

2 large eggs, beaten

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

For the Glaze:

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon mustard powder

Instructions:

Prepare the Meatloaf:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, and milk until combined.

Add the eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Form the Meatloaf:

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.

Transfer the meat mixture to the baking sheet and form it into a loaf shape.

Prepare the Glaze:

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and mustard powder. Stir until smooth.

Spread half of the glaze evenly over the meatloaf.

Bake the Meatloaf:

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 55 minutes.

After 55 minutes, spread the remaining glaze over the meatloaf. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Rest and Serve:

Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute throughout the meatloaf, making it moist and easier to slice.

Serve warm with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.

This classic meatloaf recipe offers a comforting meal that’s perfect for family dinners.

The glaze adds a tangy sweetness that complements the savory flavors of the meatloaf beautifully. Enjoy preparing and serving this hearty dish!
